Cosmetic dentistry is a blanket term used to describe the art and science of improving the appearance of your teeth to give you a better smile.

If you have multiple teeth with chips or old fillings, we might recommend cosmetically restoring your smile with porcelain dental veneers. Each veneer will be custom crafted in our professional dental lab to match the teeth in your smile.

If one of your teeth lack the sufficient enamel to mount a dental veneer, we might recommend restoring that tooth with a porcelain dental crown in San Francisco, California.

The process of placing a crown starts with your dentist using a drill to remove the tooth’s enamel layer. This forms an abutment that contains the core structures of the tooth. Later, this abutment will serve as the anchor for your permanent crown.

Dr. Niloufer Hamsayeh will then cast a detailed impression of the abutment and all other relevant teeth. A temporary crown will be placed over the abutment and the impression will be sent to the dental lab where your crown will be made.

We will call you back into Niloufer G. Hamsayeh, DDS when the porcelain crown is ready. During this appointment, your dentist will remove the temporary crown and cement your permanent crown in place.

If you have one or more unappealing teeth in your smile, you should call Niloufer G. Hamsayeh, DDS at 415.682.6377 to explore your cosmetic dentistry options.
